My Vampire Weekend
August 3, 2008
EEEEEEEEE. I am a bit silly when it comes to listening to new bands & all that. Due to working full-time as a Music Advisor for a year & a half @ a CD store I definitely got over music.
It’s really quite sad, I haven’t experienced a resurgence of my desire anywhere near what it was before working there and listening to music for 8 hours a day, 38 hours a week, 48 weeks a year!
So anyway, I’d heard a little bit about Vampire Weekend before but never heard their tunes until Today.
Please watch this video! The song is so cute.
Is your bed made?
Is your sweater off?
Do you wanna f-ckkk?
Like you know I doooooo!
This weekend has been super hectic. I went out with my lovely friend Kelly & we ended up being talked to by…now get this. The guy who helped build the actual machine, that got sent up to Mars, to scoop up the dirt, that found the water.
I thought this was the worst pick-up line, until he showed his business card & he is indeed a “Space Mechanist Project Officer”. Haha. Pretty hilarious. I drunk Cherry Beers that night & then went and danced and caught up with very old friends!!

Kelly & I!
The next day I picked up my “new” car! All was well and dandy until I was driving out to my friends house for pre-outing dinner & it stalled! For a moment! As I was going around a round a bout! I was very unhappy! But then it started again and has had no other hitches…but still. It’s not what you really want on the first day of getting a 2nd hand car, for it to stop working for a moment for no reason :S Especially since I am going to be in debt for a while paying it off & I don’t have a full-time job. Arghhh.
Last night was last night. I’d decided I needed to drink a little in order to deal with many of the events that were destined to occur on my re-entrance to my social world.
Felt pretty out of place most of the night but had a few good chats, did something I don’t normally do (smoked! so terrible.) & ate a packet of Twisties.
Tomorrow night I’m beginning my showgirl dancing career & shaping up (hopefully!)
I’ve also resigned myself to the fact that I may have to get a FT job doing something less than I would love for a while, my desired lifestyle is less than financially viable right now.
Alright well if you have made it this far pop back up and watch that video again. SO CUTE! xo
