Absence makes the heart grow fonder, absence makes the heart wander.

Sunday just seems like a great time to do a blog post, weekends are usually filled with busyness & there is little time for my internet pursuits!

However, here I am! Back & ready to roll. The above photo was taken at Devilles Pad, I am warming my hands over a little volcano that exists in the center of the dance floor there. Aw, I love it! There was pass the parcel! They mostly play 60’s throwback stuff & have heaps of themed nights. Next week there is a Jerry Lee Lewis night!!! So fucking cool. I am totally going if I can drag someone with me, I don’t think I know anyone that likes JJL :(

My outfit wasn’t worth mentioning! I had a really fun night which ended in Tofu burgers at “The Moon” at 2am. Delish.

Prior to this I worked at the Andrea Bocelli concert for a couple of hours, it was quite stressful & I was glad to be away from the thousands of classical fans, they are pretty intense!

Today I wanted to have a really relaxing day, so I used this:

BEST BATH I HAVE HAD IN AAAAAAAGES! It was so wonderful. I also napped intermittently & did sweet nothing for the rest of the day.

I am nervous about starting my new job Tomorrow! It should be fine though… I’m also learning a “Chair Dance” @ Burlesquercise, which sounds a bit raunchy but I’m sure it will be fun.

OH!!! Last night @ the Satanic club we saw Daniel Johns with his girlfriend (who I swear to God looks so much like Gemma Ward) Louise Van Der Vorst (or something like that) hanging out with some Perth-onalities…luls.

I have never seen Daniel Johns before so it was a little bit exciting. Anywhoo! Star spotting, 60s dancing, vege-burgers, sounds like a good weekend, and it was!

Churros for tea.

August 28, 2008

Tonight I ate churros for dinner & it was AMAZING! Oh, so, delicious. Goodness. The company was good too.

Be warned…whingy post ahead.

I’ve gotten myself into this horrible routine where I sleep from about 1-2am until about 10-11am, wake up, groggily grab my laptop and do internet for an hour or so, before even getting up to have breakfast. I then try and do something for a few hours, before feeling overwhelmingly exhausted, and wanting to sleep again! (at 2/3pm) however when I do I get that whole “sleep inertia” thing & feel awful for the rest of the night. So I try not to. But am just so tired! I think it’s because I haven’t been working or having to do anything for aaaaaages.

Starting work on Monday is going to be a real challenge! However the hours are 10-6 at the moment so at least I will gradually be eased into it.

I don’t know how I would have done with the 7.30 am job (who didn’t call me coincidentally, phew!).

Even though I try to be so good I’ve been feeling lethargic the past few days, I ate hungry jacks Today & had tinned spaghetti for breakfast. I am naughty and feel bad for it.

To top it all off I have a mega zit 2008 living quite happily on my chin (thanks hormones!) making me a little miserable.

So all in all, I’m slump city.

Here’s some links that might be of interest:

Skelliewag – Have mentioned before, a good blog on blogging & he’s written a few new articles lately.

Primped – Really cute new beauty site from the Fruity Beauty writer, who used to be the Beauty Editor for Harpers Bazaar, whatever. It’s a cute site! Ch-ch-check it.

:( :):(:):(:)

Tits are ruining my life.

Silicon Valley.

Here is a tale of woe I wrote whilst I was away, that I thought I would share with the internet. It’s not about fashion (well maybe?) & it wont make you any prettier or your life better. With that in mind, read ahead if you dare…

In Vegas the silicone breast is the ruler of all things. Presiding high up in the stratosphere, on the upper bodies of women desperate to impress the multitude of men who flock to Vegas to spray money and view these treasure chests.

Last night we apparently had the pleasure of the company of Dennis Quaid, whom you may (not) remember from such hits as:

Vantage Point
Frequency
The Rookie
Any Given Sunday
The Parent Trap

I don’t have the exact percentage chance figures of it being him, but someone did yell out “FREQUENCY IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE”. So lets stick with affirmative.

Now old Dennis was flocked by these treasure chested women. Hair bleached to within an inch of it remaining on their heads, botox plumped lips, silicone plumped tits, faux tan expertly applied & a bakery worth of makeup-cakes.

I think my main qualm is that none of these look au naturale. A natural looking fake breast, sure! But these look SO BAD. SO SO SO BAD AND OBVIOUSLY FAUX.

Anyway – men love them and they are ruining my life by being pressed against my face.

Yoga!

August 26, 2008

Stolen from Richards Pics

Just a really quick update to say that I went to my Yoga class tonight.

It was mostly really gentle exercises on the mat, a lot less of a workout than I am used to from prior yoga classes. It was held in a warm, dark hall with a soft orange light at one end & gentle music piping throughout.

During it I felt a little fidgety because I wanted to be doing the ‘harder stuff’ but at the end I felt really balanced, I think that’s the only way I can really describe it.

Yoga makes you feel balanced, like things are in the right place & the world is okay. I felt motivated so when I went home I cooked a healthy vege burger (and made it unhealthy with hot chips!), drank a glass of water then later had a green tea. (THEN LATER HAD HOT RHUBARB AND ICECREAM – not so healthy but how can I say no to that?! It was so delicious!!!)

I think I’ll stick with it & also try to add a more challenging class when I feel ready.

I’m really excited about life at the moment :) xox

Thanks to someone I call a friend, I’ve recently been put onto this album. Yeah yeah, of course I knew of it’s existence & the few songs on it that are mega hits, but I never actually bothered to listen to the whole thing all the way through.

I am really glad I have now! The song “Sleep” especially, I listen to it when I’m driving and it’s probably bad because it makes me so tired & just want to snuggle up in bed and dream for the rest of my life.

28th of October, baby.

Last night I worked at a Phantom of the Opera thing & EVERSOSADLY missed my weekly dancin :( *POUT* I am going to Yoga Tonight though so I will stretch it up & not feel so bad.

I also watched High Fidelty, oh swoon I love that movie & John Cusack is a HEART-THROB! I would totally date his character from that movie. 30 year old MEGA MUSIC NERD? Yeah okay.

So…drumroll…

I am now employed as the GUEST RELATIONS CO-ORDINATOR @ Adventure World! Hehe! The job seems really cool, I’m getting paid a LOT more than I have previously, it’s an 8 minute drive from my house, it’s challenging and doesn’t seem boring & I get to reply to complaining e-mails about children who didn’t have a fun day at the theme park! Yay!!! I’m pretty excited & start next week, now I just have to break up with my other job :( Hateee doing that!

To celebrate I bought a pair of socks I’m pretty sure Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz would wear, they are red with red shiny flecks all throughout. I’m going to wear them with black ballet flats, but I’m not sure what else yet. I’ll take a photo and let the internet decide soon!

Went back & tried the star dress on in a smaller size & it was a no go :( Alas alas!

I also bought some wheatgerm, soy yoghurt & pitos, my eternal lover. This has degenerated into a shopping list so I should end it here!

xox

This is what I spent my Sunday afternoon reading. So, so so good. I always liked the movie, so when in Portland I picked up the comic. I’m not usually into comic books, but now I think I might be as this one was so great! It was a little different to the movie too which was awesome.

This is setting my world on fire right now. It cost me one dollar from an op-shop & contains a picture of my favourite lovely puppy dog! Cocker spaniel lovelovelove!

Today I ate a tofu burger, nearly fell asleep in the sun, worked at a “Phantom of the Opera” launch & snoozed a lot.

OH I WAS ALSO INFORMED ABOUT JOB! Rock n rolllllll. I’m going in there Tomorrow to (I assume) discuss salary & sign forms. Yay :D

Drinking tea, doing yoga Tmw. Watching a Leonard Cohen dvd with my friend & eating curry the next night & seeing a band. YESSSSS.

Life is not so bad even though some people drive me fking crazy.

Aaaaaaaaaa!

xo

Just some lists.

August 24, 2008

Allow me to chat a little about my weekend.

Actually my computer is being a real jerk so I’ll just write some lists!

This is my list on how to be “Optimal Annette”:

Mondays – Dancing
Tuesdays – Yoga
Wednesdays – Yoga

Drink a glass of water upon waking, 3 x flax capsules @ night, porridge & iron tablets in the morning, smoothie at least every second day, films make you happy, new music, equally so, face masks sunday, swimming.

Just quick thoughts from my brain but I intend to stick by those as diligently as I can. If anyone has other ideas on how to optimise my self feel free to comment.

Here’s my other list of things I want to do:

Watch all the dvds I own that I haven’t already, get hair cut & coloured – trim 6-weekly, buy new bed sheets, fairy lights for room, read & finish books I own that I haven’t already, watch Flight of the Conchords, go to bookstores more, collect a few new tea varieties & enjoy, monthly massage, buy more coat hangers.

Hopefully I will update Tomorrow with some good news & a less broken internets! love you alllll xox

My parents are going on an epic journey again up to Shark Bay in their caravan. It’s so fun to see them pottering around getting it all ready & getting excited! The great Australian dream and all that!

I’m pictured wearing my Daddys Akubra! & generally being an “Aussie” in this said caravan :P

Today I wore this top which is kind of one of my favourites, op-shop find for about 4 dollars I’m guessing, have had it for aaaaages!

I just want to say at this point that I really hurt my nail Today and it’s making it difficult to type! It is shit.

More silly caravan photos..

I will miss my parents!

I went shopping Today to help someone pick out some clothes! However I did get side tracked & try on a few things myself.. unfortunately I am skint. But I did take some sneaky photos, and would like the internets opinion on this dress!

I THINK I really like it! Maybe need to go a size down as it’s a teeny bit big on me, but not in a really bad way I don’t think. And it just seems like a silly fun party dress to me. But I’ll let you decide as I’m in two minds about it!

As I have mentioned before, I have been going to a music quiz on Wednesday nights at a pub and it’s so fun! Before the one on Wednesday my friend and I did some stuff & went and sat in the park.

However…

There’s no seats in the park! So we had to bring our own hehe.

Karen FYI this is the guy that’s going to Melbs to see BJM! Stalk stalk.

The quiz has this funny segment at the start called “Farnsy or Barnsy” in which you hold up pictures of John Farnham or Jimmy Barnes, and they flip a thingy with one of their heads on either side, if you picked wrong you’re out but if you chose right you are in and can choose to stay with who you had or change again…it keeps going until one person is left and they win a prize! ($20 voucher)

Anyway it’s pretty funny so here are some pix.

haha!

Squinty!

Fun times ;D

Tonight I am going to eat japanese food, get a bunch of my stuff from my old-boyfriend then we are going to a friends party! It should be a good time I hope!

I’ll try and take some photos, don’t forget to give me honest dress advice!

Movin on up…

August 21, 2008

Nerdy!

Yesterday I found out something really, really cool! It is super nerdy, but also pretty exciting too!

When I first started this little blog, a search for ‘kittentails’ in Google would yield no results for me, I think maybe I could be found on like page 5.

The reason for this as it turns out is that a ‘kittentail’ is a little flower!

Cute!

Anyway, Yesterday when I did a little search on Google…

MY BLOG COMES UP NUMBER 2!

This is exciting for me & I think it’s because of the few links to my site people are putting up on their own sites! I’m not sure exactly how it works, but I’m happy anyway :)

Today I feel a bit grumpy. I have a job interview Tomorrow & I am pretty nervous because I don’t feel like I am ‘definitely’ going to get it just by showing up! Which with a lot of jobs, I do feel that way because I know I have the skills & personality to do it very well.

Arrrrgh! Anyway I’m pretty sure I’m going to take a bath with a Lush bomb & try & chill the hell out. There is WAY too much on my mind at the moment.

You know you love me

xoxo

(hee)

Laying claim to the title of being the messiest girl on the internet, ME! This is what I was wearing last night to see my friends band play. Mezzanine!

Wearing…

“The Ataris” hoodie! (So pop-punk I am!) – given to me by an old work friend.
Claude Maus “Spooky galaxy” skirt (I don’t know if it’s called that but it probably should be!) So cute, I freakin LOVE this skirt!!!

Here is a close up of the detailing:

Hi Casper!

That’s a little axe. There is also some little vacuum cleaners but I think they were chilling around near my butt somewhere so I couldn’t get a photo!

Also wearing, Leona Edmiston tights & $20 bright cherry flats from a sale @ Myer! Yay!

I thought what I was wearing suited the way I felt, little dark and sinister, a little band girllll. And it’s hard not to feel cute when you are wearing red flatties! Yep! I was also assistant roadie for them which was fun hehe.

I ate the best chips in Perth – Flipside in Fremantle – & had a good night listening to bands :)

Got pulled over and breathalysed on the way home for ‘driving erratically’!!!! Which is sort of funny..

On the way there I was rocking out to Refused’s “The Shape of Punk to Come” which I hadn’t listened to in aaaaaaages. Swedish hardcore <3 They went on to form “The International Noise Conspiracy” which I think more people have probably heard of.

The singer is VERY ATTRACTIVE. & a friend of a friend actually got to kiss him. HEARTBREAK HOTEL.

Today I plan to go to an op shop and see if I can find any worthwhile additions. I’m also going to eat a butter & vegemite crumpet, watch a Leonard Cohen DVD & hopefully go to a music quiz night I went to last week which was really fun.

OVER&OUT. xx
