Luella Love Love Love & My Car Hunt!
July 31, 2008
Ok!!! So here is my first ‘outfit’ post, it’s nothing particularly exciting but I just wanted to show off my Luella “Love! Love! Love!” Cardigan! I had been looking for a cardigan of this colour for a VERY long time & the detailing on it just makes me swoon a little bit every time I see it.
It’s a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit oversized on me, but just adds to the warmth and snugglyness of it all
Closeup of that detailing :>
A mini-outfit update wouldn’t be complete without a photo of boobs on the internet, so here is the singlet I am wearing underneath it Today:

Z-Trip! Haha, I don’t listen to this guys music but I did sell merch for him & some members of Jurassic 5 when they came to Perth. They were all really nice and wanted me to go on tour with them (lol..) because I am a sweet “merch wench”.
I got this singlet & some cds for free because they liked me. Selling merch is a pretty good job, but it’s very tiring. I haven’t done it for ages now, it’s very cold! People spill beer on you, try and steal stuff, drunkenly try and barter prices & it can be really stressful, but it’s fun & you get to meet a lot of people who are really into music which is awesome & the reason I did it.
So I am searching for a car (well my Dad is for me!) & it’s also a bit stressful. The money thing is freaking me out & I hate being house-bound.
My old car broke down as soon as I got back from the US & it’s been pretty average asking my parents for lifts! AH!
I am, however, now gainfully employed. I will be working at a national ticketing agency selling tickets to gigs & concerts & sporting events ETCETERA. It’s only casual though so I will still be a poor little bee.
I am going to make a hot milo & warm my heart! xo
Websites that are similar to Fredflare.
July 30, 2008

I wanted to share some websites that are like FredFlare because it is something that I get asked about quite often & I know that people are always looking for more supercute websites!
These sites are like FredFlare in that they sell unique, cutesy goods that you are probably only ever going to find on the internet, and also aren’t a dime a dozen!
Next time you are looking for new cute additions to your life, or a gift, then check out these few sites:
These guys make some of THE cutest tee-shirts & hoodies. I currently own two pieces & plan to get one or two more. LOVES IT!

I have this hoodie, but in brown.

I think this hoodie is SO awesome & a really good Winter->Spring crossover piece. I see it with a cute skirt & black stockings.

Maybe this Babushka one is more your thing? Also really sweet to tide you over the Winter.

This “Cute Nerds” tee, is perfect for your friend who is studying Advanced Theories of Differential Calculus at University, or for the lass just looking for a lonely, geeky boy to cuddle innocently over the icy Winter months!

This gumball tee is going to be MINE! A must for every sweet-tooth you know! Every time I look at this shirt, I can taste artificial colours & flavours in my mouth!

If you are so far removed from reality that your head is PAST the clouds, it’s up in space, then this tee is for you! Rocketships, planets & heart shaped stars. Really, what more can you ask for?
Very cute with lots of nick nacks & accessories.
English site in pounds, but with SO many cute things including lucky dips!!! WIN!

We all know what American Apparel is about, & I would go so far to say that the clothing market has been all but saturated by this hyped young brand.
Hipsters & fashion freaks everywhere are stocking up on great quality, “sweatshop free” basics. The only problem is that things can get a little boring with so many basics & given the popularity of AA you might have to 2nd guess that jersey tee you’re about to wear out of the house, in fear of your friend wearing the same one.
Regardless of my slight cynicism (I still love you AA!) I have recently discovered my new favourite winter jumper. Yes it’s name is in the title, the lovely:
Unisex California Fleece Raglan!!!

I have it in navy, in size XS (it’s unisex, I am about a size 8-10) & it’s pretty much PERFECT on me, sliiiightly baggy. But really, really good. It’s so warm. I love it so much that I wore it like, 3 days in a row, INCLUDING to bed.
Yes, I am dirty, but it’s just that good

You can tell that it’s better fitting in this picture here. If you are after a new winter warmer, then I 100% suggest this one. It looks really cute with a little brooch or badge pinned to the top too & goes very well with your favourite jeans or skirt.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Seriously.

Hot Texas Mom.
July 29, 2008

Killeen, 1969.
Hot Texas Mom (apparently).
Well Today I had my weirdest search engine traffic yet. I’m guessing by now you’ve figured out the not so tricky riddle…yep. Someone typed in “hot texas mom” & found my blog.
Now I am not sure WHAT search engine on Earth they used (my blog sure isn’t the first one that comes up on google search for that string!) & I also have -no- idea what I have written about that could be construed as even slightly relevant. I hope, however, the searcher enjoyed my blog & went on to find the hot Texan mothers s/he was hoping for!
I’d like to show case some other interesting ones I’ve had recently, so without further ado:
* wild celebrity photos (
* cute puppies with clothes (somewhat disturbing, imo)
* natalie portman is in a bathing suit (hey I can’t blame them for this one…but I doubt my blog delivers on this count either)
* if only you were here (oh, heartbreak!)
* i drink green tea (good for you!)
* cute clothes to go out with friends
* nick lachey
* finding yourself again (I hope they found it!)
* cute mushroom (hee!)
Well there you have it, oh the life & times of a wildly popular internet blog (note: sarcasm intended)!
Fellow bloggers & blogettes…lend me your similar tales of search engine traffic joy!

International clothing acquisitions!
July 28, 2008
Okay! So I guess these aren’t -amazingly- exciting or anything, but some of them are pretty cute & they all make pleasing additions to my overflowing wardrobe…!
Really cute skirt with scalloped hem line (ah scallops with dollops of flavour on top…from your local fish n chip shop)! & Luella ‘Foxy’ tee – not an international acquisition but along for the ride anyway.
Close up of the scallops…I’m bringing scallops back!
“Vintage inspired” The Smiths tee from a terrible emo clothing chain, but my love for Morrissey overcomes all!
Bad-ish photo, but 2 x pan collar tops I picked up! I <3 pans!
This dress is so cute, I want to get it take up a bit though as I don’t think I will wear it at its current length, just above knee would be perfect.
Close up of the dress pattern.
Pretty scarves! Vintage oroton & silly yellow one.
Polka tee from H&M (love) & San Franciscan vintage tapestry-esque skirt! Ee.
Well that is all! Expect more photos now that I have cameras & I’m not afraid to use them!

A nutritious, delicious smoothie vs. Not.
July 28, 2008

Yesterday morning I made a smoothie worthy of celestial kings (?!). I included a bounty of good-for-you ingredients:
1 x large banana (their wonders discussed in greater depth here )
1 x cup of frozen berries; more info here on them! But a summary is that they have lots of antioxidants, vitamin c, are low in calories & prevent cancer & bladder infections (hot).
1 x cup of apple juice for sweetness & a runnier consistency
1/2 x cup of soy milk, for protein
1 x large tablespoon of wheatgerm (in depth coo-ing over wheatgerm HERE! )
OKAY! So I whizzed this all up in the blender and made 1 & a half large cups of smoothie heavens! I plan on experimenting a bit more with quantities/other additives such as flaxseed oil (for clear skin, memory improvement-if you don’t eat fish 3 x a week you should try this-) but it was pretty delicious.
After having it I felt really bouncy & full of energy, it made me feel great. I felt really confident the whole day too.
Now lets fast-forward to Today, where I didn’t have breakfast, ate a whole bag of Pitos & half a box of 99% sugar 1% artificial something-or-other American candy.
I felt so terrible the whole entire day, I was extremely irritable, with no energy or confidence. I know this probably seems very “obvious” but it’s really good for me to experience a contrast like that to help me realise the right things that I need to be doing for my health.
So just then I whipped up a carbon-copy of that smoothie I had Yesterday, drank half & already am feeling better!
I think a smoothie is a great way to get lots&lots of vitamins & good things into you, for minimum effort & maximum taste.
***EDIT*** I am going to try out this SPINACH SMOOTHIE next! Apparently it’s delicious…well we will see about that!
Also, I cannot stop listening to this song: Tegan & Sara – Living Room (it was on my American mixtape)
Hope in a jar…Hope?
July 26, 2008

Help me oh help me.
The skin gods are punishing me with a variety of less than attractive blemishes on my face. I think they are disapproving of the fact that I have travelled, stressed and partied too hard over the past two months. Not to mention the bad eating, sleep deprivation, sleeping in make-up (Gasp, I know & I -always- do this! Naughty.) & to make it worse hormones are flying around my body wreaking havoc.
So drastic times call for drastic measures. Or in other words, lets try out a new skin regime & see what happens!
I don’t think that posting photos of my un-made up, blemished face is going to please anyone very much (least of all me) so I’ll allow your imagination to run wild with ideas of my hideously deformed face (!!) ..perhaps I am a little drastic.
So, as I mentioned in this post I purchased Philosophy, Hope in a Jar. Yes it smells kind of interesting, but I do not mind it so much, it makes my skin feel nice & it is meant to WORK – the most important thing!
HERE IS MY PROPOSAL, SKIN!
I am going to apply HIAJ to you, each night after cleansing with a very mild cleanser (Dermalogica Ultra Calming or Cetaphil). I will rub this dream cream into you whether you like it or not. I may also choose to use HIAJ on you in the mornings after my shower, dependent on whether I am intending on leaving the house (I don’t want to go around smelling like crazy creams during the day!)
I will do this until my little sample jar is empty.
I guess there are 3 outcomes:
a) WONDERFUL SKIN! Crowd goes wild!
b) TERRIBLE SKIN! Paper bag 4 lyfe!
c) Zero outcome. Skin stays the same.
Here’s hoping for ‘a’

Sendsomething / Postcardx
July 25, 2008

The other day I received a MIX TAPE in the mail. Oh my lordy! It was from a stranger, no less, and I have yet to listen to it but am thrilled that someone would take the time out of their precious little life to send me something they thought I would like.
The reason I received this (& a really cute card & letter too) was because I am signed up to these two websites:
&
I’m not sure which site it came from, but it’s really really amazing to get something randomly from someone from another country & I will definitely be returning the favour to this girl!!!
You can search via interests, location or name & I think it’s a really fun way to contact people you would never meet otherwise, but who share similar interests to you.
I encourage everyone to sign up, in the past I received a “Thanks for signing up!” postcard & a sticker for someones band that they wanted to promote
But the CD, card & letter are the best yet.
So thank you, internet friend & I hope that someone else has a great experience too! Let me know if you sign up! xo

Upon returning home from my travels I am delighted to discover a variety of delicious teas in my house. I am fairly fond of this warming, healing beverage & plan to drink copious amounts this winter.
I always liked the idea of green tea, but because it had more caffeine than coffee (which I don’t drink due to said caffeine) I was always sad that I couldn’t be enjoying the antioxidants that are so often worshipped!
This changed when I found decaff green tea! Hooray! So now I plan to drink 2 cups daily & see how I feel!
My car just broke down as I was on the way out to pick up some vital life supplies & I am feeling a little sick so my inspiration is at quite a low.
Once again I claim to have frequent photos coming soon…but now I have lost the cord to my camera in my transit from the US -> Aus. SIGH!!!
I am really craving a delicious snack in the form of PITOS Sweet chili & sour cream. Please do yourself a favour and obtain these.
Feel free to send them to me too!
xx
Kittentails Guest Post Project
July 20, 2008

I’ve been keen on the idea of ‘guest posting’ ever since I started up kittentails. I think it’s a really fun way to interact with other bloggers in the same field & just something fun to mix things up a bit!
As a part of my growing involvement in the blogging community & inspired by other sites who have guest posters, I’ve decided that I’d like to undertake a little experiment/project!
So here it is friends & readers:
I am offering to write a guest-post for anyone who asks. This means that I will write a blog post about a topic we agree on & you can post it on your blog.
Why is this good? I’m glad you asked
* Firstly, as I previously mentioned, it’s fun to mix things up. Variety is the spice of life!
* Something out of the ordinary will impress your readers & make them keep coming back for more!
* Not having to worry about content for a day (or however often you like to update).
These three reasons alone are great, however it will also just be fun in general!
I am also open to the idea of guest post swaps, where we do a trade for a post!
The only condition is that it will have a link to my blog in the post & there is no deadline for me to produce the post (however you will most likely receive it within a few days to a few weeks)!
Sound like something you’d be interested in? Then please contact me at kittenchiq@hotmail.com with your ideas for a post, and we can discuss
xox Annette
